What is Counselling?

Counselling offers a space to slow down and talk through what’s going on—whether it’s big emotions, relationship struggles, stress, or just feeling stuck. It’s a supportive process that helps you (or your child) understand yourself more deeply, navigate tough moments, and feel more grounded and connected.

There’s no need to have it all figured out—just a willingness to be curious. I take an emotion-focused, attachment-based approach, paying attention to how feelings shape our inner world and relationships. Together, we make space for those emotions instead of pushing them away and begin to notice the patterns they form.

For kids and teens, therapy may include play or creative activities to help express what’s hard to say out loud. My office is cozy and kid-friendly, with fidget toys, art supplies, and games.
If we’re meeting online, feel free to show up just as you are—comfy clothes, pets, and all.

Is Psychotherapy Right For Me?
You don’t need to be in crisis to begin therapy. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure how to move forward. Maybe your child is struggling, or your family is going through a tough time. Whatever brings you here, therapy offers a space to slow down, feel supported, and begin to make sense of what’s going on.

I work with adults, children, and families, creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone can show up just as they are. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan—just a willingness to explore what’s coming up.

If you're wondering whether therapy could help, that’s often a good place to start.
About Me

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who works with children, youth, adults, and families from a warm, curious, and compassionate approach. My work is grounded in Emotion-Focused Therapy and attachment theory, with an emphasis on how emotions and relationships shape our experiences.

I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and safe to explore whatever they’re carrying—whether it’s big emotions, relationship challenges, or everyday struggles. I also draw from narrative therapy, mindfulness, emotion regulation, and play therapy, adapting each session to the unique needs of each person or family.

I hold a BA in Psychology, with Honours, from Queen’s University and have recently completed my Master’s in Counselling, with Honours in Psychology at Yorkville University. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, youth, and families in a variety of settings—including schools, after-school programs, hospitals, and group homes. These experiences have shaped my understanding of the many ways people navigate challenges, and the importance of feeling truly heard and supported along the way.

In and out of the therapy room, I bring a warm, empathetic presence—and with kids, a bit of playfulness too.
Outside of work, I find grounding in nature, creativity, and slow moments—like painting on a quiet afternoon, listening to music, or spending time with my pets. These are the things that help me stay connected, curious, and present—qualities I also bring into my work with clients.

What to Expect in a Session
Starting therapy can bring up a mix of feelings—curiosity, nervousness, hope. That’s completely normal. Whether you're coming in as a child, teen, adult, or family, I aim to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely supported.

In our first session (typically 60 minutes), we’ll spend some time getting to know each other and exploring what brought you—or your child—to therapy. For children, parents are usually involved in this first session to help provide context and support. After that, sessions become a space just for your child, where their privacy and confidentiality are respected, while keeping communication open with parents as needed.

As we continue, sessions may focus on building coping tools, exploring emotions and patterns, improving relationships, or simply creating space to be heard and understood. With families, we might work on communication, strengthening connections, or navigating challenges together. For children and younger clients, sessions often include creative or play-based approaches to help them express themselves in ways that feel natural.

Each session is shaped around your unique needs and goals—and we’ll check in regularly to make sure our work together continues to feel meaningful and supportive.

Sessions are available in person or online—whether you're looking for child counselling, youth counselling, adult counselling, or family counselling—depending on what feels most accessible and comfortable for you or your family.
Evening appointment times are available to accommodate scheduling needs.
